Aloha everyone,

I'm still brimming with happiness from Friday night's installation dinner at our very own Janice Kim and her husband Mike's stunning home in Kahala! The evening was filled with fun, laughter, and a strong sense of camaraderie that embodies the spirit of our club.

I'll give a summary for those who could not make it.

To start the evening we brought a past member back to the club with the Induction of Miki May. We are so excited about the positive spirit and zest for international service she brings to the club.  It was also great meeting her husband Mike.

Having the honor of being inducted as the President for 2023-2024 by our Past District Governor, Linda Coble, was indeed a highlight for me. I'm deeply grateful for the faith you've all shown in me and I promise to do my best to live up to your expectations.  My thanks also to ADG Ryan Kawamoto for lending your support to the club and for the great photos.

Taking over from our  past president, Kecia Sharpe, is a responsibility I don't take lightly. Kecia, your work and dedication throughout your term have been truly inspiring, and I will strive to continue the excellent work you've done.

We also welcomed our enthusiastic new board members! I'm thrilled to work alongside such dedicated individuals. I know we're going to make an incredible team and achieve great things together.  The new board is Secretary: Laura Steelquist,  Treasurer: Alissa Pranica, Club Service: Janice Kim and Pat Yee, Foundation: Kecia King, Youth Service: Dailyn Yanagida, Community Service, Lillian Shaw, International Service: Mae Mendelson, with Kelli Chun and Miki May. HRYF: John Steelquist.

Of course, the night wouldn't have been the same without the delicious food catered by Ed Kuaoa. The dishes were absolutely delightful and added that perfect touch to our celebration.

As we embark on this new journey together, I want to reiterate our commitment to our motto, 'Service Above Self'. I'm confident that with your support and our shared passion for service, we can make a positive impact on our community.

Thank you all for making the evening a memorable one. Here's to a fantastic year ahead for our East Honolulu Rotary Club!

Warmly,
Cheryl
