Calvin Hara
Community Service after a Career

We are pleased to welcome Calvin Hara as our guest speaker. Calvin is a local boy from Kaimukī who attended public schools, was active in Cub Scouts, and graduated from Kalani High School. His commitment to service began early through Scouts and the Key Club before heading to University of California, Davis for college.

Calvin spent thirty years in senior care management in Sacramento, working across independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing. In recent years, he returned home to Kaimukī to care for his mother during her twilight years.

Today, Calvin remains deeply involved in community service. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise, recently served as Exalted Ruler of the Honolulu Elks Lodge, and volunteers in several community roles. His work includes serving as a community educator and chair of Public Policy and Advocacy for the Alzheimer's Association Hawaii Chapter, as well as volunteering with the Hawaii Medical Reserve Corps.
