Join Us in Supporting Seniors: Volunteer at Hawaii Foodbank’s Senior Food Box Packing Event

Are you looking for a way to make a tangible difference in someone’s life? Look no further! The Hawaii Foodbank invites members of our Rotary Club to participate in the Senior Food Box packing event. Through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), we offer vital assistance to low-income seniors who are facing the challenge of food insecurity.

Event Details:
- Date & Time: The packing takes place from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, with check-in starting promptly at 7:45 am.
- Location: Packing will be under a tented area in our parking lot. Street parking is available on Kilihau or Kakoi. Remember, parking at Goodwill is not allowed.
- Sign Up: Please fill out the volunteer form (https://www.volgistics.com/appform/348316126) if it’s your first time joining us.

What You’ll Do:
You will be an integral part of the team that packs over 2,000 “healthier choice” food boxes for our senior citizens in O`ahu and Kaua`i. It’s a chance to contribute your energy and time towards a very noble cause.

What to Wear & Bring:
- Solid shoes with covered heels and toes
- Hair tied back, pants/jeans or appropriate-length shorts
- Avoid sleeveless tops, midriff baring, skirts, or low-cut tops
- Hats, sunscreen, and gloves (disposable or work gloves) are recommended
- Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated

Please Note:
- The activity requires standing and repetitive movements, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Safety is a priority, so the event is not suitable for those who are more than 5 months pregnant.
- Backpacks, large bulky items, and cell phone use in the assembly line are discouraged.
- This opportunity is for individuals who are 16 years of age or older.

Let’s stand together to support our senior community. Your participation means more than you know. We look forward to seeing you there – because when we work together, we can create a world without hunger.   Don't miss this opportunity to give back to the community and help ensure that our seniors are well-cared for. See you there!
